Mosaic Bee Bath - Two sizes

$95.00

My first Bee Bath proved so popular that I have reproduced my initial design, but also included two options in a smaller size.

Bee Baths are one of the easiest and most effective methods of drawing more nearby bees to your garden. Bees collect water for various work and health reasons, so adding this minor feature will transform your ordinary backyard into a pollinator haven  When you add a bee bath to your garden, you provide a vital resource for local bees. Although honeybees don’t use water for hydration, they collect water to aid their digestion and keep their guts healthy. Bees also collect water in their wings to fan themselves inside their hot hives but they can drown if their wings get too heavy so you can see little landing spots throughout my Bee Bath.

Perhaps the most important reason to provide water for bees is to support bee larvae. Nurse bees need water to create royal jelly to feed bee larva and help them grow

My Bee Baths have been created on a sealed terracotta saucer. The larger version measures approximately 26cm diameter x 4cm in height, the smaller designs are 17cm x 3cm. Pretty ceramic and glass tiles, some with an iridescent sheen complete the designs while layered pebble tiles and flower centre discs create landing spots for the bees. Little glass bees, ladybugs and toadstools complete the design with a faerie like touch.  Each Bee Bath has been sealed with three coats of Crommelin Pond Sealer to ensure it is not only waterproof but also non toxic to any bees or other native creatures who may take a drink from it.

As well as supporting your local bees I hope you will find that this Bee Bath range offers a beautiful piece of art for your garden.
